There are a number of products being developed for the industry to insure the authenticity of a photographic work and to help protect copyright. One such product is offered by Image Rights International, who has recently launched a service targeting commercial photographers’ individual collections of images.
Images are uploaded to Image Rights International content files where an advanced image search technology searches the web for image matches. Photographers whose images are matched are notified of possible violations via a weekly email report. The report gives the URL for any matches for the images placed in the Image Rights International database.
The service is inexpensive, ranging from a package covering 250 images at $4.95 per month to one for 1,000 images at $34.95 per month. More information at www.imagerights.com
